About this work
“One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.” — Carl G. Jung
“The Shadow: Aurum Non Vulgi” delves into the archetype of the Shadow and the process of individuation through a profound dialectic of matter. The work is structured like a psychological geode: an abrupt tectonic boundary—forged in relief, precious metals, and quartz crystals—fractures to reveal a liquid, abyssal chasm of deep resin.
Far from representing darkness as emptiness or negation, the center of the piece pulsates with hidden glimmers and golden filaments, embodying the alchemical maxim of gold that is not for the common people: the latent treasure that only manifests when we have the courage to descend into the depths of our own unconscious. A tactile, magnetic, and meditative piece on the integration of our opposites.
